It is recognized that quantum error-correcting coding (QECC) is a crucial technique to ensure the possibility of successful quantum computing.
The main goal of the course is to present a working understanding of the key ingredients involved in QECC:

(1) The mathematics of error-correcting coding (ECC), focused on the codes that are deemed more promising for QECC;

(2) The mathematical models of quantum computing, the difficulties that hinder their physical realization, and the role of QECC to overcome them; and

(3) The effective management of ECC and QECC, mainly the algorithmics and programming that concur in their construction, coding and decoding.
