Threshold phenomena in random structures course: Patrick Morris (UPC), Tássio Naia dos Santos (CRM) and Guillem Perarnau (CRM-UPC) organize this advanced course  through BGSMath. The course will consist of four 3-hour lectures (Room 101 at FME-UPC, Math building).
We are organising the advanced course Threshold phenomena in random structures through BGSMath. The course will consist of four 3-hour lectures (Room 101 at FME-UPC, Math building):
  1. Introduction to thresholds in random discrete structures with applications. Tuesday 10 December, 10h-13h

  2. Zooming in on thresholds: sharp thresholds and critical window. Thursday 12 December, 10h-13h

  3. Locating thresholds: the Park-Pham theorem. Tuesday 17 December 10h-13h

  4. Threshold detection and algorithmic barriers. Thursday 19 December 10h-13h
Here you can find more information on the course and register:  https://www.crm.cat/bgsmath-threshold-phenomena-in-random-structures/
We invite all those interested in threshold phenomena, phase transitions, and their applications to join the course. Aimed especially at Master's and Ph.D. students, the course requires no prior background in the subject. Plus, coffee and cookies will be provided for all attendees!
