Abstract 

In this talk, equations governing the motion of two mutually interacting systems (whose configuration spaces are Lie groups) will be presented both in the Lagrangian formalism and the Hamiltonian formalism. This theory is called the dynamics of matched pairs. Under the presence of the symmetry, the matched Euler--Poincaré equations and the matched Lie--Poisson equations will be derived. Two concrete examples will be provided. The first one is in finite dimension, namely the matched pair dynamics on SL(2,C). The second one is in infinite dimension, coupling of hydrodynamics with electromagnetic field.

El gran esdeveniment FoCM 2017 tindrà lloc a Barcelona del 10 al 19 de juliol. Aquest congrés compta amb 21 workshops i amb 17 conferències plenàries impartides per matemàtics de gran prestigi internacional. El congrés està coorganitzat per UPC, UB, FoCM, CRM i BGSMath. La data límit per la inscripció és el 29 de juny.

The aim of the conference is to bring together specialists in mathematics and mathematical physics to exchange experience and knowledge about the most recent developments in the field of finite dimensional integrable  classical and quantum systems.

Editions of FDIS have been taking place every other year since 2011. Previous editions have taken place in Jena Luminy and Bedlewo. 

The 2017 edition is the core activity of the Follow-up programme on Geometry and Dynamics of Integrable systems which took place at CRM in September-November 2013.

Objectives

This Intensive Research Program is designed simultaneously to speed up and contribute to the next game-changing developments in classification and structure theory for C*-algebras, and to prepare for the new state of play in the area once those developments arrive. According to current developments, the IRP will strive to blend different techniques coming both from C* and von Neumann algebras and find a common ground to maximise outputs. The program will bring together many of the world's leading researchers working on C*-algebras, von Neumann algebras, dynamical systems, and the interactions between these areas. There are three key objectives:

1. To advance classification programs for C*-algebras and for C*-dynamical systems.
2. To investigate further suitable models for classifiable C*-algebras arising from dynamics.
3. To encourage further interaction between C*-algebras and von Neumann algebras in light of current progress in both areas.
