Professor Eva Miranda, first woman to hold the Gauss Professorship at Göttingen

Professor Eva Miranda, as Gauss Professor in Göttingen, is the first woman to hold this chair in the department. Last Friday she gave the inaugural lecture at the Akademie der Wissenschaften in Göttingen, a very special moment for her due to the historical context of Göttingen, where eminent figures such as Gauss, Bessel, Alonzo Church, von Neumann have passed through.
