Prize for Luis Alamo, directed by Professor Curbelo, at the SFMC2025 congress

The student Luís Álamo, from the Master's Degree in Physics and Mathematics - FISYMAT at the University of Granada, will join the UPC in September with a predoctoral contract, thanks to the Research Grants in Life and Material Sciences from the Ramón Areces Foundation. The work is directed by Professor Jezabel Curbelo, and is funded by the CLaCoS project - Deciphering Climate Change: Lagrangian Coherent Structures in Atmospheric and Oceanic Flows as Indicators.

The work, entitled: Lagrangian Coherent Structures in convective fluid flows, presented at the 3rd Spanish Fluid Mechanics Conference (SFMC 2025), won the award for best poster of the conference.
