Presence of the MAPTHE research group at the international meeting S4i 2026 – Science for Industry
Feb 03, 2026
The Matrix Analysis and Discrete Potential Theory (MAPTHE) research group has presented the MARIA prototype that improves the early detection of breast cancer.
On January 28 and 29, 2026, members of the MAPTHE research group of the Department of Mathematics of the UPC participated in the S4i 2026 – Science for Industry, held in La Nave (Madrid), after the VEITEC project was selected among the proposals presented to be exhibited at the stand of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The MARIA prototype was presented, which allows for improved early detection of breast cancer using non-invasive electrical impedance tomography.
S4i is a benchmark event in knowledge transfer and connection between research and industry, and the participation of the MAPTHE research group has allowed visibility to be given to the research carried out at the UPC in this area.
On Wednesday, January 28, the Cadena SER program La Ventana, hosted by Carles Francino, was broadcast live from La Nave, and during the broadcast a brief mention was made of this project. You can listen to the program fragment at the following link:
