Guillem Blanco, José Rubio de Francia award 2024

The Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME) and the BBVA Foundation award the Mathematics Awards every year, celebrating the intrinsic value of this discipline and the power of basic knowledge as a transformative engine for society.

Guillem Blanco Fernández, lecturer in our department (ETSEIB section), was recognized at the ceremony with the José Luis Rubio de Francia 2024 award. This award, aimed at young mathematicians up to 32 years old, Spanish or who have done their work in Spain, is endowed with a start-up grant of 35,000 euros with which the BBVA Foundation will support the winner's research over the next three years.
