About us
The Department of Mathematics of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is in charge of teaching, research and knowledge transfer in the scientific and technical areas related to Mathematics at UPC.
The department was created in October 2015 integrating the former four departments of applied mathematics.
At the time of its constitution there were over 200 research and teaching members in the Department.
The Department has nine Sections in the campus of Barcelona, Castelldefels, Manresa, Terrassa and Vilanova i la Geltrú. It is in charge of the teaching of mathematics in more than 20 Undergraduate, Graduate and Doctoral studies in 17 out of the 20 Schools of the UPC.
The research is organised through 18 Research Groups funded by research projects from public and private funding agencies at national and international levels, and with contracts with public and private organisations.
