Eva Miranda Appointed Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences

Professor Eva Miranda has been appointed Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of Spain in 2026, becoming one of the 35 corresponding members in the Mathematics section.

The Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of Spain, since its founding statutes approved by Royal Order on 25 February 1847, has been dedicated to promoting the study and research of the mathematical, physical, chemical, geological and biological sciences, as well as their applications, and to disseminating this knowledge.

Among its main functions is advising the Government on matters within its expertise, particularly in scientific policy issues that may have an impact on the country’s scientific and technological development. The Academy also undertakes other activities such as organizing meetings and seminars in these fields, publishing its journal and scientific proceedings, producing reports and studies, standardizing and defining scientific and technical terminology, safeguarding the proper use of language, and awarding prizes.

The Academy is composed of 72 Full Members, 144 Corresponding Members, as well as Supernumerary and Foreign Members as deemed appropriate.
